What is mental health?

We use it every day, therefore it may surprise you that the word "mental health" is commonly misinterpreted.

'Mental health' is frequently used as a synonym for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and others.

However, according to the World Health Organization, mental health is “a condition of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the usual pressures of life, can work effectively and fruitfully, and can contribute to her or his community.”

So, rather than asking, "What's the problem?" It basically boils down to 'what's going well?'
